Ísafjörður is a city in north-west of Iceland. With the population of 2600 inhabitants it is the largest city on the peninsula Vestfirdir. It is located on a sandy spit of the Skutulsfjörður fjord .
Almost all the inhabitants are engaged in fishing, In the 80s a number of reasons through there was a sharp decline in investment in the fishing industry, fish catching started to decrease, and some residents had to leave for work in big cities.
