Maps by National Geographic show a not-so pretty picture of what the Earth would look like if all the snow melted away.
Much of the snow on our planet exists near both the poles, though a fair share also exists on high altitude ranges and mountains across the globe.
What would happen if all this snow were to melt? It is estimated that there are over 5 million cubic miles of ice on Earth.
If all that were to melt, the sea level would rise by 216 feet, and several areas near the coast, and some not so near the coast would be flooded and be claimed by water.
