Mallakhamb – an ancient Indian sport that began as additional exercises during class struggle, but later became an independent sport. The name «Mallakhamb» consists of two words: «malla», which means athlete or strong man, and “khamba”, which means pole.” Competitors perform a variety of exercises on a pole or rope from the practice of yoga and gymnastics. People who engage in mallakhamb argue that the sport is not only helps to strengthen the body, but also to temper the strength of spirit.
