London Turned Pink For Cancer Awareness Campaign

by Surveer

Buckingham Palace was turned into pink on Monday 1 October to support Breast Cancer Campaign’s Breast Cancer Action Month. During the month of October, the main attractions of London, England, was highlighted in pink as part of an awareness campaign for the prevention of cancer.

The Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Nelson’s Column, Somerset House, Trafalgar Square, and other landmark buildings were giving the message of cancer awareness.

Breast cancer awareness is an effort to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education on symptoms and treatment.

Supporters hope that greater knowledge will lead to earlier detection of breast cancer, which is associated with higher long-term survival rates, and that money raised for breast cancer will produce a reliable, permanent cure.
