Golden Moon is a huge temporary structure that is similar to a giant torch. The annual festival ran its course this year from September 27th through October 2nd, giving Golden Moon a 6-day run in Victoria Park. It echoes the spherical shape of the moon and the significance behind it in Chinese culture that believes the full moon is a symbol of reunion and gathering.
The geodesic dome was designed by architect Christoph Kroll and Adam Fingrutom to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Day In The Park in Hong Kong.
Hall has not only become a favorite meeting place for residents of Hong Kong, as well as for tourists, it also attracts global attention to its neon lights in the night sky.
Golden Moon also references the legend of Change, the Moon Goddess of Immortality, whose love for her husband Houyi burns bright in hues of reds and orange on the day of their reunion on the moon.
On top of all this imposed geometrically correct layers of fabric, giving the dome a unique pattern and texture.
