Man caves provide men with a place in which to hide out when some man time is desperately needed. Man time may include lengthy video game sprees, pool tournaments, two days straight of watching nothing but football, or even something as simple as downing a couple of beers with the guys. Whatever the case, a man’s cave must be equipped with the proper equipment to allow the man to engage in his favorite activities.
Man caves must also be appropriately decorated with trinkets, gadgets, and memorabilia that appeal to men. Lace, kittens, and sparkles are out of the question here, and guns, games, and cars are definitely in.
Car memorabilia is one favorite man cave decoration. While some men have entire car-themed man caves, other have shelves decorated to car memorabilia from their favorite decade, era, or brand. Some men even enjoy collecting memorabilia from celebrity cars such as models of Steve McQueen’s favorite wheels or couches made to resemble the seats of famous movie cars.
Here are five of the weirdest man caves.
- The Car Man Cave
- The Weapon Man Cave
- The Golf Man Cave
- The Rock Climbing Man Cave
- The Star Wars Man Cave
The Car Man Cave
This cave is entirely dedicated to automobiles, racing, cars owned by the rich and famous, and the drivers that make them do the amazing things they do. You may notice the upside down racetrack on the roof and the Nascar-themed cushion.
The car man cave also comes with a beer refrigerator, a giant television, and diamond plate flooring that stretches from wall to wall. Everything from the furniture to the fan follows the car theme.
The Weapon Man Cave
This actual man cave is equipped with models or real editions of just about every important firing arm known to man. Needless to say, the weapon man cave is the place to be when the zombie apocalypse finally goes down. You may notice the howitzer and cannon replicas that liter the floor and the excessive amount of ammo streaming from the machine gun.
Although you can’t see from the picture but can probably imagine, the weapon man cave comes equipped with an insane amount of locks, bolts, and security mechanisms on its double doors to keep unwanted or under-aged visitors out.
The Golf Man Cave
Not only does this man cave feature a golf theme and have a heavy golf feel to it, it also serves as an actual virtual golf driving range in which a man can practice his swing without ever having to venture outside the safety of his cave. Be careful with the massive flat screen television set though.
The PGA memorabilia on the walls is real, the seating is both comfortable and golf-themed, and the far wall is curved to give perspective to the virtual driving range.
The Rock Climbing Man Cave
Although most man caves are built for relaxation and fun, some take the relaxation entirely out of the equation. This man cave has a wide, convex rock climbing wall. What this wall lacks in height, it definitely makes up for in variety.
The rock climbing man cave also features a number of hallways and doorways that are chock full of rock climbing handholds and footholds. It may be technically possible to get around this entire cave without once touching the floor. The opposite end of this cave, however, does feature the usual dartboard, video game collection, and DVD rack.
The Star Wars Man Cave
Welcome to the Death Star. The Star Wars man cave is designed to be an exact replica of the interior of one of Star Wars’ most famous death-dealing spaceships.
While all man caves may not be as extravagant or obsessive as these sanctuaries, with the right company they can be just as fun. Man caves can be musical, playful, sporty, entertaining, or relaxing, but they are made for men, decorated by men, and usually have no room for female influence.
